The Klaus Tschira Foundation (KTF)
mainly provides support for
- research projects in applied informatics, the natural sciences, and mathematics
- student projects in the natural sciences, mathematics, informatics
- educational projects at public and private universities
- selected projects dedicated to the preservation of historical monuments and the arts.
In all its activities, the key aim of KTF is to
foster public understanding for the sciences,
mathematics, and informatics.
The resources provided are largely used to
fund projects initiated by the Foundation itself.
To this end, it commissions research from institu-tions
such as the European Media Laboratory (EML),
founded by Klaus Tschira in 1997.
The central objective of this institute of applied
informatics is to develop new information process-ing
systems in which the technology involved
does not represent an obstacle in the perception
of the user.
In addition, the KTF invites applications for
project funding, provided that the projects in
questions are in line with the central concerns
of the Foundation.
